FILM: CASABLANCA

Casablanca is a 1942 American film directed by Michael Curtiz. It tells a romantic drama in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, area of mobilization of refugees from the conflict, seeking an exit to Portugal or the United States, under the control of the Vichy government. The film, based on the play Everybody Comes to Rick's, by Murray Burnett and Joan Alison, stars Humphrey Bogart as Rick Blaine and Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa Lund.It is one of the best rated films of the American cinema, winner of several Oscars, including the best film in 1943. Casablanca had a solid start but not spectacular . However, it was increasing in popularity as time passed and it placed among the first places in the best movie lists.

The film starts in the Moroccan city of Casablanca,Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), an American citizen who has been expatriated, runs the business of "Rick's Café".One day, Ugarte, a thief known by Rick, shows up at his bar carrying valuable documents that turn out to be safe conduct, with which anyone could arrive in Lisbon, the only neutral port during the war that could take them to the United States. Before being able to sell them, he is stopped by the police. Before disappearing, Ugarte entrusts the documents to Rick. Rick's situation gets complicated in Casablanca when an old lover named Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) appears in his bar, who left him in Paris for her husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid), who accompanies him in the city. Laszlo turns out to be a leader of the Czech resistance who, knowing that Rick has the safe conduct, intends to take both. When Louis stops Victor for a misdemeanor, Rick tells him that he can free him for this theft, in order to stop him for safe-conduct traffic. When Louis goes to arrest Victor, Rick points a gun at him, uncovering his alibi. The film ends at an airfield, where Louis, Rick, Ilsa and Victor are. Ilsa and Victor end up boarding the plane that will take them away from Casablanca. The main characters of this film are IIsa Lund, Rick Blaine and  Victor Laszlo. I think that the purpose of this film is to teach how people live during the second world war. My favourite character in the movie has been IIsa Lund because I think that she was very expressive and she performed very good scenes as for example in the scene where there is a boy playing the piano and singing while IIsa was listening to him .  It represented a romantic scene. What I like most of this film  has been that  the story was very good developed and that the actors performed very well. However, what I like least about the film is that we could see that there was a lot of male chauvinism during the story.

I like very much the actors work as I have told what I liked best about the film is how the actors performed. However I think that the soundtrack in this film was terrible because sometimes the sound was very loud and othertimes it was very low. The camera and photography angle was very good because the scenes were very good filmed.

In conclusion, I think that watching this film I have learned a lot of things about the war and how the population have  to manage during the war trying to survive. First I thought that I wouldn't like the film because it was very old but in the end I like it. In my opinion this movie is in the given list because it has a lot of things to learn.

A PICTURE

I have taken this two photos. The first picture is the church of Antiguo and the second is the park that is situated also in Antiguo.  As you can see they are taken at night and they transmit fear. I am going to speak about the second picture because it represents my childhood. When I was young I used to go to this park so I have a very good memories. We can see that there are kids playing as I used to do when I was younger.

FINAL EVALUATION: We think that we have done a lot of work showing our attitude to the class and trying to have their attention asking questions...

VISUAL THINKING

I think that Javier De Miguel did a very good job trying to teach us some aspects of the visual thinking.  I have learned a lot of things with Javier for example that we have to use 'bocadillos' to give more importance to the text and also to use different colours...
I think that visual thinking is very useful for our everyday because using this we can see better the advertisements or the posters.

CHALLENGE WORK

We have thought to do a product that contains mashed krissia, a cream for example: philadelfia and a toy. The buyers will be the adults because they are who earn the money at home and costumers will be the childrens because is healthy and it has a toy. The price is going to be 3,95.

INTRO TO THE CHALLENGE

One month ago, people from Angulas Aginaga came to our audio visual class to spent time with us and to propose us a challenge which consist on creating a dish or a product using Krissia.  We have done a lot of classes with them and they have taught us about the attitude, how to draw and how to improve our idea.
We think that to do this challenge is a very good idea and we also love our group because we think that we  have the skills to do a good work and show them our attitude.

I think that in this term I have learned a lot because we have done a lot of different project such as: photographers presentations, games about languages, lettering... Before we started the term I thought that in this subject we will center in one project but finally we have done more than one. In my opinion, in the next term we should stay more days at the computers room in stead of staying in class because I think that in the computers room we do more work. I think that It will be a good idea to do theatre or a singing context!

EUROPEAN DAY OF THE LANGUAGES

I have done two activities to celebrate The European Day of languages:

Yesterday I played a game in French class. This game consisted in doing two groups, in one group there were the classmates of eleanitza and in the other group the classmates of French class. Each group had some questions about places, languages and other cultures to ask to the other group.  We had  a very good time and we learned a lot about other places.

We have also spoken with the germans in the English class. We asked them a lot of questions about their trip to Donostia for example what have they enjoyed about Donostia, what have they done... They were very lovely people and we enjoyed a lot!!

PLANNING THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES : THE INTRODUCTION

We are celbrating The European day of languages in our school,so now we are going to explain what we know about this day:

The European day of languages takes place on 26th of September each year. It is organised by the council of Europe and the European Union. A lot of countries celebrate this day, being precise,45 countries.  The objectives of this celebration are to alert the public to the importance of language learning because even if you don't belive it the languages are very important to contact with people, another objective is to promote the cultural diversity.

Like we said before, the European day of languages is celebrated on 26th of September. To celebrate this spectacular and lovely day, we have decided to do a funny game in our school.

THE GAME:

- First, we are going to make a stage in the playground

-Then, we are going to invite students to sing their favourite song but in a different language. For  that, we are going to give them the lyrics of the song they have chosen.

We think it is a very funny idea and that lots of people will have a good time!

ANOTHER GAME:

We were planing to do the game of pasapalabra but we haven't have time to do it. We did some questions related to the languages and we wanted to asked the questions to the students of 2DBH.

THE VIDEO FOR THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

Apart from the game, we also want to film a video where we show monuments, sculptures, palaces, bridges... from all the world. But unfortunately, we can't go abroad to take pictures of those things. Then, we propose to film, for example, the church of Antiguo and let it know like The Big Ben of London. That is the way we want show to the viewers the extraordinary places we all have around the world.

THE LOGO OF THE T-SHIRT:

This week we have been working on a logo that has to be related with the languages. With this logo we try to transmit that we have a lot of languages in our world.

THE RECREATION OF A PHOTO OF CARTIER BRESSON

In this picture we can see a child waiting to have her breakfast. We can imagine that it is her breskfast because of the cup of milk.

I think that with tis picture Cartier Bresson wanted to reflect the realism like in his other photos. But in this photo we can see a difference: he wanted to reflect the poverty as we can see in the old clothes, in the dirty face of the child...
We can also see the movement of the milk. In my opinion Cartier Bresson wanted to give importance to the cup of milk with a white light because it is the only thing that makes the child happy. This is what we can see in the foreground of the photo. However, in the background, we can see that there is more people waiting to their breakfast in the queue because we can see their shadows.

This is the photo that I recreated. The child that appears in this photo is my cousin and at first I thought that It will be easy to do it but in the end It was a little bit difficult because I was telling to my cousin that she had to watch to the milk and not to the camera. In this picture the background it is difference from the other one.

PRESENTATION: CARTIER BRESSON

This week we have been working on a presentation of a famous photographer whose name is Cartier Bresson. Although we had to do a lot of work to recreate his photos, we had a very good time. We try our best to take similar pictures by using the same clothes, going to similar places (antiguo, the old part...). This is the result of this work:

BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY

This week we have been watching videos of photography and the teacher told us to take some photos using different techniques:

- One photo with a small Depth of Field:   In this photo we can see some pink flowers in the foreground and blurring the background. I give more          importance to them, giving an imression of proximity.

-Another photo with a slow Shutter Speed:
In this photo we can see a barbecue with the fire on movement.

LETTERING

This week we are going to work with hand lettering. We have to write welcome in different languages with different type of letters. When I was younger I used to draw but I rarely work on hand lettering.

This are 3 pictures that I took this weekend which use lettering

In the first photo we can see the borders of the letter in dark in order to highlight the 2 words : ESTRELLA GALICIA

In the second photo we can see a graffiti with a strange lettering to decorate the street. The graffiti makers often draw their names on the streets so in this photo they might have done the same.

Finally, the third photo is a logo from a japanese shop and they might have used that lettering which is similar to a bamboo to transmit that on japan there are a lot of bamboos.

FAKE NEW

A FAKE NEW

The Spanish Civil Guard joined the innocent, and announced on his Twitter account that he was going to fine "La Chica de La Curva" for not wearing a reflective vest. And who is that? an urban legend, a ghost, precisely of a young woman who seeks revenge in the curve in which she was run over.

MASS MEDIA

Think about this for a second: every time you want to listen to your favorite song, watch your favorite show or see more current events, where do you go? You will use the television, radio or your computer. The source that the majority of the population uses to obtain their news and information is what we know as mass media.
The most common platforms for mass media are newspapers, radio and the television.

Newspaper

The most important function of newspapers is to inform the public of significant events. My parents rarely buy the newspaper so I never read it.

Radio
My mother usually swich on the radio in the mornings and we algo use it while we are in the car.

TV
When I was young I used to watch TV but nowadays I rarely watch it bacause now I have the mobile to watch series and to do other things.
